What do you do when the ground shifts beneath your feet—and everything you rely on disappears?

That’s what happened to me while trekking in Mongolia. In the middle of the night, I woke to find my boots, jacket, passport, phone, and camera—all gone. Stolen.

In that moment, the trip could have ended. But instead, something unexpected happened. Other trekkers rallied around me—loaning me boots, a jacket, even cash. The embassy issued me an emergency passport. And without my camera, I had no choice but to be fully present.

I began to see differently—not through a lens, but with my own eyes. And what I discovered was powerful: what looks like loss can actually be an invitation. An invitation to presence. To clarity. To surprising strength.

This is the practice of Seeing Freshly. It’s about loosening our grip on what we usually rely on, and noticing what new perspective might emerge.

✨ Next time life feels uncertain, ask yourself: What can I see freshly right now?

It might change everything.
